Let your compass guide you

A new website in the Lost Experience has emerged.

Possible Spoiler

If you go to the executive bios section on the Hanso Foundation website you will find that Hugh McIntyre’s picture has been replaced with a question mark. If you click the picture, you will be asked to login to get to the press releases.

Also, you will find that the Electromagnetic Research Initiative page has changed. Move your cursor to the middle of the crossed lines between the two pictures and a hidden link will appear. Click that link and the new website appears – http://www.letyourcompassguideyou.com/

Move your mouse around on that page and you will find hidden links. I was able to find a link to the folder http://www.letyourcompassguideyou.com/usr/ and through that folder I found some pretty interesting images and this video.

Update:
Peter Thompson’s mail account can also be found through the folder I found above. There are some images related to a purchase of Jeeps by The Hanso Foundation, a memo and several other images related to the purchase.

Is this site a reference to the compass that didn’t work in season one, due to the magnetic properties of the island?

Update 2:
The password to login field on the Hugh McIntyre page might be “the mouthpiece”

Great job, Andreas, you got to this as I was doing it also.

If you play around with the compass (around 4 o’clock position), you can also get this image to pop up:

And you can also make it give you this message asking “Are you a good person?”:

2. Andreas says:

Yeah, I also found those images. When I pressed “y” to answer “Are you a good person?” I ended up in the folder I mentioned in the post.

I wonder if there is more to this image: http://www.letyourcompassguideyou.com/usr/hmcintyr/mail/139191991471518711419.jpg

Might the symbolics and the text be a connection to Desmond’s race around the world or even refer to the Bernal Sphere and my ideas of an Utopian space habitat?

3. Mizzie says:

If you look at the compass you can see Persephone’s image faded behind it. Is she telling us something?

4. Mizzie says:

I can’t seem to get the page to work for me. Not sure what I am doing wrong but it is not getting me anywhere. Any advice?

Try placing your mouse at 108 degrees. Just a bit to the right of, and a bit lower than the E on the compass.

6. Zarggg says:

“the mouthpiece” does not work as a password. It keeps saying “password incorrect”.

7. Andreas says:
”the mouthpiece” does not work as a password. It keeps saying “password incorrect”.
Strangely, it worked for me before but now the Hanso site is really screwed up for me, almost like if the server is over loaded.

8. tomw says:

In that image, the Buddha-like statute in the forefront, when zoomed in, you can see the words “The Mouth Piece”.

Interesting… just a red herring?

9. Ebri says:

Interesting thing, in the background on the image refferencing the “Bad Twin”…

…it has backwards writing. It says, “If you are one, know one.”

Then it says something else right under that, but it’s cut off.

And then it says “happy mother’s day.” Or I’m crazy…maybe.

10. jocics says:

wheres this compass? help!

11. Leslie says:

it’s at letyourcompassguideyou.com You have to keep refreshing it. It’s real busy right now b/c the commercial just aired about an hour ago.

12. Jonathan Penn says:

Hello-

Once you get to here: http://www.letyourcompassguideyou.com/usr/pthompso/mail/INBOX

Go to the site: http://www.adcott.net/binary/

Punch in the binary numbers and then get the new password which is not the Mouthpiece but “The Mouth Pie”

-JP

This may be old news.. but Im currently reading ‘the bad twin’. On the back cover theres a website for http://www.garytroup.net. HOWEVER I accidentally typed in http://www.garytroup.com and found LOTS of good info. You might check it out.
Anyone know what the deal with http://www.oceanicairlines.com is? You can only log in at 815am or 815pm.

14. Julie says:

The electromagetic image on the hando website.. the date has been changed. Its backwards but is ‘basically saying’ Oct 26 1929

15. Leslie says:

“the mouthpiece” actually worked for me. It basically shows evidence that McIntyre is having an affair. After you watch the video clip, you click on an invisible link to the upper right of the video, then a bunch of “diamonds”, credit cards and what looks like hotel receipts fall. Try to click on the hotel receipts to view more….but they are fast little boogers and I’m not sure you actually gain much more info.

btw can anyone decipher the map coordinates?

19. claire says:

random thought is hugh having an affair with liddy

20. Cecilia says:

A few things:

The way people got to this site yesterday before the ad leading to the link, was that they went to the ERI page. This had turned into an image map, where if you click on the coordinates mentioned in the weird date under the pic (also very close to where the X & Y axis meet on the graph), you will be taken to the compass page.

Other goodies from this page:

– The lady reflected in the dial is the Asian lady on the front page of THF. Unknown at this time if she is Persephone.

– When you get the dial on the compass to show you the map, look in the lower right corner. It has DI9FFTR731, same as on the food DHARMA is dropping on the show.

– When you get the pop up box asking you if you are a good person, it says OPENERS HEP = acronym of PERSEPHONE.

Once you get into the mailboxes, there seems to be a lot of redundency with giving you the Hugh password… they really wanted people to find this!

1) It is written in binary code, which translates to “the mouthpiece”.

2) In the print ad in his mailbox, it is written in tiny font next to the Buddha.

3) In the video link in his mailbox, at the end of the Jeep commercial, there are the words ECHO ME UTEF HIT = acronym for THE MOUTHPIECE

So you enter it in the Hugh bio page, which should have changed. Some people are having trouble with this; I’ve heard that online, some have resolved the problem by clearing their browser cache and starting over (reentering breaking strain).

You will be led to secret surveillance of Hugh with a woman who is not his wife, and Persephone mocks “Mr Family Values indeed”. When you get to the falling pills and credit cards, click on the pink slips; they will take you to expensive restaurant and store bills, before shooting back to Hugh’s bio page.

If this wasn’t a real site you couldn’t be here.
This site is also officially unofficial, whatever that means.

you should leave immediately. ”

Try the link and check out the links on the valenzettifoundation.org site. very strange……..

22. Mark says:

widmorelaboratories.com/
http://www.valenzettifoundation.org

I think some other sites have proven that they’re not related. Just fans making the maze larger in their own way. Unless the site is linked from thahansofoundation.org or appears in a hanso commercial during lost, then I’d assume that it’s just a fan site.

So I think the good sites, as of now, are thahansofoundation.org, letyourcompassguideyou.com and sublymonal.com.

“btw can anyone decipher the map coordinates?”

I don’t know if there’s anything to decipher. The circle is divided in to 10 equal parts. Those have their degrees listed. In parenthesis are the tangent value of those degrees, which is also revealed at 360. Looks like there’s some writing between 108 and 144, but I can’t read it.

this actually just means ‘let your compass guide you’
i don’t know where you got that other translation…

i didnt see any one else mention this but this must be the place to do it, in the djdan.com website from the hanso code, most of the time there is an ad for that subylmonal.com site with the tv’s, but sometimes there is a jeep ad, and if you click on it your taken to the New Jeep Compass, tag line, let your compass guide you, put this is actually the real jeep site, whats going on
old jeep ad on hanso, and the tag line…

26. -the blair- says:

I dont know if anyone else has found this, but on the hanso foundation website, if you go to Joop’s Corner, just under the ‘hand written’ green Joop’s Corner logo just to the right of the picture of Joop hanging on to the side your curser turns into a text icon and when you click there is a hidden text box. when I put text in nothing happens, but could someone do a check to see if putting any text in there will do anything? maybe its for future use. just seemed interesting

http://www.oceanic-air.com

The general rule of thumb is to take everything with a grain of salt until officially endorsed through:
1) Press release by LOST TPTB/writers/producers, ABC or ABC affiliate
2) Press release or ad sponsored by fake character already introduced in webmaze through national or international public media such as national TV ad, newspaper, etc.
3) Link within already endorsed official site, such as thehansofoundation.org

magda: Not sure what kind of latin translator you are using, but aldo has the right one.

dale: I noticed the ad, too. I think there’s going to be some sponsor crossover on some of these sites. Monster.com is another one that has been seen on other hanso sites. It’s definitely a novel way of marketing, with us, the captive audience, eh?

the blair: WOW, this is totally new to me. And as someone who frequents about 5 or 6 sites with thousands of people webmazing all day, it’s rare to see a new discovery. It took me a while to get to that area, but now that I clicked around (it is right by hanging Joop’s hand), I know just what you are talking about. I typed something in and nothing happend, so I’m not sure either. Good work, though! I’m taking this one to the reverse engineers so they can see if there is anything to this area. Not sure if this is new.

(I’d like to list the official sites as URLs, but I can’t, since the spam filter will filter out my comment if I put too many links… the short answer is that they are thehansofounation.org, oceanic-air, oceanicflight815, DJ Dan’s site, sublymonal, and letyourcompassguideyou).

30. -the blair- says:

by right clicking on the pic it would pause for just a second while the little right-click-menue appeared and with the letters I caught I think it could be Crysler, it would go along with he and Hugh’s connection to Jeep.

35. Julie says:

Okay, I just finished reading ‘bad twin’ maybe its nothing… seeing as how its listed as a ‘fiction’ book. Anyhow, old man Widmore makes a statement that Mittletwerk (sp) is a scumbag and not to be trusted. Basically calls him a creep and then goes on to say ‘I miss Alvar… he was a gentleman’. Implying that Alvar is dead?
Old man Widmore also reveals that the Board of Directors for the Widmore Company would overthrow Middletwerk because he is out for his own good.
Also…. one of the main counterpoints of the story is that Ms Widmore is having a supposed affiar. Thompson? She’s described as looking like the video that was available of him with an ‘adultress’.
Well.. just wanted to try and help.

36. Julie says:

Oops, I meant McIntyre… not Thompson

37. Jen says:

I spotted as well the corporate connection to all of these ‘ads.’ If you go to view page source on your browser, you can see the company that is sponsoring the ads. Jeep this time, Sprite last time. This leads me to believe that the commercials really have no relevance to the show and are merely a clever advertising ploy…unfortunately. It really annoys me.

In another tread (the “The GWC Letters on the Hanso Foundation.org” one) Fred has found some coordinates at a forum?
NE, W, NW, SW, SW, W, SW, SW, SW, SW
I’m not sure if they are in any way useful here but they must mean something:).

Here’s what Fred says:
So we still need to decode the last two messages from Peter Thompson, that is if it’s really him and not a fake site as claimed by some. The numbers by Persophone also need to be translated, with each set of numbers appearing to have a different base. The site reads…

100011111000000011000000000000000
110102120120120222000
10133000120233212
34330140143332
2113445350130
230216130114
43700305746
13376516860

2051040811
793a299019b
5b9782ab3
339708ab4
1d2ae4b7c
11f018be6
bc851g6b
7fa53230
576c90fi
3f4ef5h2

The top line appears to be Binary, but maybe it’s not. Binary numbers breakdown into 8-digit numbers, but this doesn’t. It does seem to break down into 3-digit numbers, however, which may comply to the Ba-Gua, an ancient Chinese binary system which the Dharma Corp symbol is based on. That is to say, it maybe should read…

100 011 111 000 000 011 000 000 000 000 000

Briefly explaining the Ba-Gua, as spelled out at…

circle-of-light.com/fengshui/b…

each number (or Gua) is made up of three lines stacked on top of each other. A line (or Yao) with two dashes represents a 0 (Yin, or female force), while a single line represents a 1 (Yang, or male force). Looking at the Dharma symbol, each side of the octogon contains a Ba-Gua number. Each number also represents a direction making it a vector, and has its own character, although some numbers share the same character. The eight numbers are…

000 = 0 = southwest = earth = Yin Yau
001 = 1 = east = wood = Zhen Gua
010 = 2 = south = fire = Li Gua
011 = 3 = west = metal = Dui Gua
100 = 4 = northeast = earth = Gen Gua
101 = 5 = north = water = Kan Gua (opposite of Li Gua)
110 = 6 = southeast = wood and wealth = Xun
111 = 7 = northwest = metal and power = Qian

Notice how “7″ or “111″ is the only complete number.

So converting the numbers above to numeric digits assuming they are Ben Gua numbers, we get…

4370030000

Or by instead coverting this to directions we get…

NE, W, NW, SW, SW, W, SW, SW, SW, SW

Sarah –
The dates on the Hanso website aren’t the normal US format. They are in the format used by most other countries and the US Government.
Most Americans are used to the mm/dd/yyyy format, but like most other numerical codes, other coutries use a different format of dd/mm/yyyy.
May 21, 2006 would read as follows:
US – 05/21/06

HI,
I’ve never posted before, but this stuff is pretty interesting … gotta love a good riddle. Anyway, I’m not sure where this code came from or if it’s for real, but the lines are numbers in successive bases, 2,3,4,… etc, with base 10 being blank. They’re all the same number (except for the first line, which may be a typo)

4815162342

hope this helps.

We’ve followed the crumb trail back to a biog on the Hanso website where a URL was being flickered through a flash file on a photo: http://www.sublymonal.com/

48. Alex G says:

Gone through the ‘obey’ website (as listed above) and got through the test to unlock the next code, which is
“Heir Apparent”

Again been taken back to the Hanso Foundation bios pages with something else unlocked – and interestingly it did not reject “Heir Apparent” when I punched it in, but nothing happended. More updates soon.

Sure this probably doesnt go here.. but a quick question.
I only started watching Lost this season and completely addicted. I bought season one and watched the first disk last night. In the episode where the burn the bodies…. who is the guy that Jack sees on the beach?
Did anyone else think that he looks remarkably like Alvar Hanso? At the time I was thinking that maybe it was supposed to be Jack’s dad….. but now I’m not sure. I know that Jack’s father had been buried…. so I can’t imagine they would bury him in a nice suit and running shoes as this person was CLEARLY wearing.
Any ideas?

Heir Apparent is used on the box in Mittlewerk’s bio. It leads to information that he never graduated from Caltech.

Our best friend Persephone then comes back saying “Why does he call himself a doctor?” “Of what.” “Who is this clown?”

Cheers!

“If anyone should find this message, please get word I’m alive and stranded on an island somewhere in the South Pacific. Please send help soon. Things are bad. And they’re getting worse…”

wierd..

It was Jack’s father Christian Shephard. There is some speculation that Christian and Alvar Hanso are the same person but I don’t really belive so.

YES!!1 I found that too. But did you see that the Latin Dictionary was a site by the Priory of Scion… Knights Templar! There are many other links like this one all over the web. (Look closely at the Valenzetti site.) The actual def.’s as written at this site are as follows: Permissum: allow, permit, let, exite, agitate, stir-up, move, destructive, wrongly, falsely. Vestri: your, yours, you make sing your pretty gals. (Error in grammer the dictionaries, not mine. Complector: embrace, grasp. Rector: remember, think, ponder, recollect. Vos: (Here’s the weird one!) YOUI’ll fight YOU all, then bring me giants, YOU can’t catch me I’m the gingerbread man. Pretty crazy! This is the web address, but I have since tried to go back and it comes up as an error. http://www.ordotempli.org/latin_dictionary.htm. Remember Lindelof, one of the shows creators has strong feelings about spirtualism. He is seeking “finding meaning” within the show. Oh and the other person that replied to you here obviously didn’t find this site.

Did anyone notice that on the letyourcompassguideyou site, the tab contains the phrase permissum vestri completor rector vos? Typed into a latin translator it comes out as Meaning:
(acc.) you (pl); I ‘ ll fight YOU all, then .. bring me giants !
you (pl); YOU can ‘ t catch me, I ‘ m the gingerbread man.
this actually just means ‘let your compass guide you’
i don’t know where you got that other translation…
…it has backwards writing. It says, “If you are one, know one.”

Then it says something else right under that, but it’s cut off.

And then it says “happy mother’s day.” Or I’m crazy…maybe.
I saw it this morning to.. And guess what.. Mothers day is tomorrow!!

Hope Liddy will appear on the hanso site..
